My life-long passion for photography began while a freshman in high school in 1968. I enrolled in an after school program, the Harvard Challenge, sponsored by Harvard University and held at the Phillips Brooks House. Here we were able to use a 35mm camera and taught how to develop our black & white film in a darkroom.
Although I enjoyed taking many pictures with many different cameras, it wasn´t until I purchased my first DSLR, a Nikon D70, and enrolled in several workshops at the New England School of Photography that photography was becoming more than just taking pictures.
While at the New England School of Photography, I entered the City of Boston´s photo contest, submitting “Full Moon over the Charles,” which was selected as one of the winning photographs.
I enjoy capturing scenic panoramas that include natural surroundings … the moon, sun, water, etc. Through my photography, I have rediscovered my youthful playgrounds like the banks of the Charles River, where I spent so much time as child growing up.
As a Cambridge Police Officer, I have the opportunity to serve and give back to the community: I served as the official photographer for the Melrose Jazz Festival for several years; helped to produce a public service announcement for the Cambridge Domestic Violence Department; documented many department events, promotions, and award ceremonies; and since 2007, have been appointed the official photographer to photograph the promo portraits of the Lowell Police Academy.
Additionally, I have photographed weddings, sporting events, and other family-oriented activities. In order to provide my clients with the highest quality in photographic services, I frequently enroll in continuing education photography workshops and seminars.
I am available to capture your special event and will travel to any location – group or portrait.
